The story behind Magnetic bookmarks and the evolution of Kraftz

From Bookmarks to Board Games and Coloring plates.

Are we sensing a shift in Kraftz? If so, where is the seven-year-old brand heading?

For a start, let's go back in time.

In the year 2019, three years after we started creating Hardpaper bookmarks, we decided to develop something new for our Krafters. Something they love, locally crafted in Bangladesh. We started researching Magnetic bookmarks.

The ones that showed up the most in our research were metallic magnetic bookmarks, and the ones made of stainless steel. But we wanted to get that Hardpaper feel on the Magnetic bookmarks, which we feel is not present in the metal ones.

So we started to dive deep into the realm of materials, that give the paper feel and, at the same time are sturdy enough to ensure durability. And after months of not finding the right material, we decided to create it ourselves. 

Our R&D team and the production team worked together to produce 900gsm thick processed board, with its outer layer laminated, making it quite durable and aesthetically pleasing to look, aesthetically pleasant to touch. We decided to make the bookmarks quite handy in size, so they're easy to carry. And with the finest touch of our craftsmen to add the Magnets delicately in place, the Magnetic bookmarks were ready. One of our highest selling products to date.

As of December 2023, we've sold thousands of Magnetic bookmarks, and now we are set to evolve it further, by giving it a proper platform to thrive in. With the evolution of Kraftz more towards the Interactive and Experiential realm of products, we are permanently removing the Magnetic bookmarks from Kraftz, and handing them over in brand new themes, to our sister concern Project দেশ​. 

Project দেশ​  will be launching many more design variations of the Magnetic bookmarks, which we are sure you'll love. The Magnetic bookmarks of Project দেশ​  will capture the essence of our rich culture and heritage, making reading a journey through the heart of our traditions.

As for Kraftz, the brand will exclusively immerse itself in the domain of experiential and interactive products. This includes our ongoing development of board games since 2018, as well as innovative creations such as Coloring Plates. With yet another eventful year coming to an end, Kraftz is looking forward to reaching new horizons in its eighth year.
